3 Day Blackstone Bay Sea Kayaking Tour
Our Blackstone Bay sea kayaking tour explores one of the most scenic fjords in Prince William Sound. Blackstone Bay offers several calving glaciers, nice day hikes, seals, and nesting bald eagles. The scenery though is second to none. Towering peaks line the bay and massive ice fields support several nice glaciers.
Itinerary:
Day Before:
Arrive in Anchorage Alaska, the states primary airport for out of state
flights. We'll meet you this evening at your favorite local Bed & Breakfast or hotel.
We'll be happy to arrange lodging for you that is centrally located and in easy walking distance to all
the best downtown establishments. We will meet you this evening to pack your clothes into dry bags and to answer any last minute questions.
Day 1 :
We'll pick you up at 8 am for a one hour drive to Whittier where
we’ll transfer to our boat taxi for a cruise to Blackstone Bay, located 17 miles from Whittier. We'll arrive in Blackstone Bay at eleven, set camp, and after a short paddling class, we will start exploring. If you are a first time paddler don't worry. Most of our clients are beginners and we will make sure you are both confident and comfortable before we depart. If you are a seasoned pro then you will really appreciate our top of the line fiberglass kayaks and intimate knowledge of Blackstone Bay. With Alaska's long summer days there will be plenty of time for a full day of sea kayaking!
Day 2:
Explore Blackstone Bay! One of our favorite glaciers sheds ice down a granite cliff while a huge waterfall erupts from under the ice!
Our tent
camps are very comfortable for this tour as we typically base camp. The meals are exceptional and the camp has all the amenities because we can carry extra goodies. Moving camp once is certainly an option too! All our itineraries are flexible and revolve around your preferences.
